About Mary
Founder, Calrex Training Academy

Security is one of the most underestimated industries in the country. Most people walk past a guard and never think twice. Mary spent fifteen years proving there was more to it than that.

When she arrived in Ontario in 2011, she brought a background in civil engineering and assumed security work would be temporary. Something to do while she figured out her next step in a new country. That's what everyone around her thought too.

Nobody told her it could be a career.

Fifteen years later she has worked every level of this industry: frontline guard, dispatcher, supervisor, scheduling, administration, budgeting, and eventually emergency management and data analytics, where her work now informs decision making at the leadership and management level. She holds an MSc in Analytics, a Certificate in Emergency Management, and is an Associate Business Continuity Professional with DRI.

The temporary job became a career she built on purpose. But it took longer than it should have. Not because the opportunity wasn't there, but because nobody showed her the map.

It can be the same for you. This industry can be more than you think.

That's why she built Calrex. Not to hand you a course, but to give you what she didn't have: the skills, the direction, and someone who has actually done every part of this job walking alongside you. Because she believes:

We rise by lifting others.
